Reside like a King

Trianon Palace Versailles, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel

Once again, it is possible to reside royally where once the Sun King held court and built a palace unlike any other in the world. In close proximity to Paris, yet at the same time pleasantly distant from the turbulent city, and only two kilometres from the residence of Louis XIV, the first offspring of the world renowned New York Waldorf Astoria opened its doors in Europe with the Trianon Palace in Versailles in 2007. The London office Richmond received the European Hotel Design Award 2008 in the category "Lobby & Public Areas" for the interior design of the former Westin Hotel.

As general contractor, we were trusted with the task of renovating hotel and bathrooms, public areas and the spa at this historical luxury hotel. Even though we only had 20 weeks to our disposal, we completed the task on time thanks to the deployment of 120 craftsmen and fitters that were efficiently organized through shift operation. By our ever evolving planning we were at any time capable to react flexibly and efficiently, when unforeseeable issues came up, which are all too common when renovating historical buildings.

It was especially inspiring that we were asked to carry out tasks in the Clemenceau hall in which, for the record, the Versailles treaty was negotiated. And after our complete renovation of the spa area that is run by Guerlain, every guest can feel like a king in this magnificent hotel.
